Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. She was born in Barcelona and has been dubbed an "atypical pop star" due to her many musical styles. 9 years ago, at the age of 13, she fell an obsession with Spanish folk music and enrolled in musicology at the Catalonia College of Music. She also performed at weddings and music bars. The album combines flamenco with hip-hop and pop The album was followed by "Malamente" (single) and "Pienso in tu Mira" (single). Both songs have been hugely successful and were praised by critics across the world. Rosalia's 2019 albums "Con Altura" (13) and "Yo x Ti Tu x Mi" (12-13) were a pioneer in urban music and achieved worldwide popularity. Her third album, Motomami (2022), she gave reggaeton a fresh approach, deviating slightly from the original flamenco vibe. With the singles "La Fama"" and "Saoko" and "Saoko," the album received a worldwide acclaim and was voted the best-rated album of the year by Metacritic. Rosalia has had ten top one singles in her native country in the span of her entire career. This is the highest number she's ever had an artist from the country. Rosalia has received 11 Latin Grammy Awards, two Grammy Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards 4 MTV Europe Music Awards and three UK Music Video Awards, and two Premio Ruido Awards. In the year 2019 Billboard awarded her the Rising Star Award for "changing the sound of today's mainstream music with her fresh flamenco-influenced pop",[18] and became the first Spanish-singing act in history to be recognized as the Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards. Grammys Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. Rosalia is the youngest of four children to Pilar Tobella, an entrepreneur who owns a small metalworking business. Jose Manuel Vila, her father was born in Cudillero. They divorced in the year 2019. [23] She has an older sister, Pilar "Pili" Vila (born 1989) who collaborates alongside Rosalia as her stylist and creative director. Rosalia began to be interested in performing arts in her early years especially after discovering the discography of Camaron de la Isla. She began her musical studies in Taller de Musics. She completed a six-year course in the academy. She began at the Raval school, but later moved to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia. Additionally, she was an individual singer, performing at weddings and musical bars. For this she received "a barely more than 80 euros" or as a reward for dinner.
