Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and raised by Wellington Paquin's acting debut was as Flora McGrath. For this role she received the Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in the romantic drama The Piano at the young age of 11. She is the second youngest winner in Oscar history. She won the role of Flora McGrath the daughter of a blind Scottish pianist, who in the late 19th century relocates into New Zealand for an arranged wedding when she answered an audition for open casting when she was just nine years old. She had little prior experience in acting. Following her move into America, she was a teenager. United States, she became an adult. Paquin was cast as the child title in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. She also played an important role on the screen in Fly Away Home, a film from that same year. Paquin had a small role in the 1997 TV movie adaptation to Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. Also, she played queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). The role she played was for teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). In addition, she portrayed the teen groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
